How does it work?

The GardenAngel is a conditioning system whereby you add conditioning agents to balance or neutralise the negative effects of the existing chemicals and additives found in detergents. The conditioning agents are balanced to give the most effective results over a wide range of laundry detergents. 

The grey water conditioning cycle

Before switching on the washing machine: Attach the washing machine outlet hose to the GardenAngel inlet hose. Plug in the GardenAngel.

During the washing machine wash cycle the waste water from the washing machine will fill the GardenAngel tank. Depending on the type of washing machine it will take 2-3 loads of laundry water to fill the GardenAngel.
 
Once the tank is full enough: Add GardenAngel Soil Protector add GardenAngel pH Balancer.
Press the Process button.

NOTE: The GardenAngel does not have to be full to process a batch of water.

Conditioning: GardenAngel Soil Protector and GardenAngel pH Balancer act to disinfect the water, adjust the pH and balance the dissolved salts.

Filtration: clean water is pumped from the top of the tank and passed through a 0.35 micron filter. Water is now ready to be pumped to the garden via subsurface irrigation.

Optimal use situations: Depending on the size and type of your garden and the amount and frequency of laundry you do there are different ways you may want to use the GardenAngel.

Garden Size: The GardenAngel is a small unit so it’s perfect for smaller gardens or difficult access situations. (The size of its base is just 1.3 x .36 compared with a 5000L rainwater tank which is 1.8m diameter)  In a larger garden or if your garden requires more water than you produce from the laundry it can be combined with water from rainwater tanks.  

Keeping precious plants alive: Many people have a favourite tree or plant that is really valuable. If you are not going to produce enough water through your laundry to irrigate the entire garden, set up drip irrigation to the root systems of the key plants and allow rainfall to take care of the lawn.  

The GardenAngel in conjunction with rainwater tanks in this case works really well.  Use water from the rainwater tank for sprinkling the lawn and use GardenAngel water for the key plants.

Laundry frequency: The GardenAngel stores water for up to a week once it has been conditioned.

If you do all of your laundry on one day, simply do half the laundry and process the water in the GardenAngel, water the garden and then do the other half, wait a few days and then water the garden again.
